On the third Thursday of each month, trained
Child Passenger Safety Technicians collaborate
with the Safe
Kids Fargo/Moorhead and F-M
Ambulance Service to check child passenger
safety seats for proper installation. Checks
are conducted between 3:00 and 6:00 p.m.
A recent national survey concluded that well
in excess of 50% of the child passenger safety
seats currently installed in motor vehicles
were installed incorrectly, thereby reducing
the effectiveness of the safety seat and in
some instances increasing the danger to child
passengers in the event of a crash.
The car seat checks are conducted indoors at
the offices of F-M Ambulance Service, 2215 18th
Street South in Fargo, North Dakota. For more
