Commissioner
Vern Bennett was elected to the Board of Commissioners
in 2002, beginning his term in December. His portfolio
includes the Highway Department, County Planning, Weed
Control, Vector Control and Water Resource Boards. Current
committee assignments include the Social Services Board,
Road Advisory, Personnel Overview, County Park Board,
alternate member of the Lake Agassiz Regional Council
and Cass County Planning Commission.
Bennett received his PhD degree
from the University of Minnesota in 1968. He and his
wife, Betty, have lived in Cass County since 1971. They
have two grown children, Rick and Julie, plus seven
grandchildren. Vern retired in 1999 after serving as
Fargo Superintendent of Schools for 28 years. |
